Facial fillers are the latest topic on everyone’s lips and whether or not you're into the idea of fillers, you have to admit the before and afters are pretty intriguing, right?
We think there is an important message to convey when it comes to cosmetic injectables. People should not be scared of fillers if they feel that the treatment is right for them but they should also be empowered with as much knowledge as possible about the product, method of administration, outcome and longevity of product, any potential side effects, the importance of post-procedural care, the need for maintenance and any other additional procedures required to achieve optimal results. It is equally important to be realistic about your expectations and not go overboard.
If you are considering facial fillers or anti-wrinkle injections, we encourage you to do your research, compare prices to comparable products and choose a clinic that you feel comfortable with. Not all injectables clinics are the same and they also don’t necessarily offer the same quality products. Don’t be afraid to ask questions about what products they use & their treatment plans/inclusions to ensure you are well informed. We also recommend choosing a clinic that is compliant with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), the governing body that monitors and regulates the standards set by the Australian Medical Board.
Anti-wrinkle injections and facial fillers are a prescription-only medicine and treatment is only available from a qualified medical professional. Australian regulations prevent us, and all other clinics, from displaying the brand names of injectable products in any form of advertising. If you’re interested in knowing more about our products, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with our staff for added reassurance. Consumers should be educated as much as possible when it comes to cosmetic injectables and we are here to help answer any of your questions you might have.
What Is Filler?
Filler is a compound, usually comprised of an agent found naturally in the body. It is used to fill in deep wrinkles and restore volume to areas where it is lost. As we get older, most of us will start to lose bone volume, fat, and muscle tone, and skin elasticity goes away. As a result, your face sort of ends up “shrinking”. Filler has become a great option to replenish volume where it's been lost.
Is It Similar to Anti-wrinkle injections?
The only similarities between filler and anti-wrinkle injections are that they are both delivered in a syringe. Each compound achieves completely different results. Anti-wrinkle injections help to eliminate wrinkles that come from muscular contractions by preventing those muscles from moving. Filler can also help to smooth over wrinkles by treating wrinkles that may be too deep for anti-wrinkle injections to address. Additionally, anti-wrinkle injections take a few days to kick in, whereas the results with filler are immediate.
