LIP FILLERS BRISBANE

Define and restore volume to your lips with The Aesthetic Collective's lip fillers or lip injections in Brisbane. Lip fillers are an easy way to boost volume and plump up your lips as well as define the borders and symmetry of the lips.

Making the decision to get lip fillers is a big step alone so below are some common myths or questions we get asked.

This fat dissolving treatment is an effective, long lasting and gradual non-surgical injectable treatment used to reshape and sculpt the jawline and eradicate fullness under the chin responsible for causing ‘double chins’ and ‘turkey necks’ in adults.

Do lip fillers or lip injections hurt?

Pain is extremely subjective and everyone has different thresholds, however, the cosmetic injectable products used contain anaesthetic. Additionally, a topical numbing agent is applied and a local block can be administered to reduce any discomfort. Our treatment times allow for our Registered Nurses to inject you at a pace that is comfortable to you so you will not feel rushed if you need to take the procedure a bit more slower. Ladies please note when booking, that the week of or week prior to your period, your pain sensitivity is heightened.

What results can I expect?

Lip filler results are visible straight away, however you may experience some swelling and bruising for approximately 5 - 7 days after your treatment. This is completely normal after treatment and applying ice or a bruising cream to the area can assist in the reduction of this.

Lumps and bumps are also common after having your lips treated which is why it’s important to ensure you attend your 4 week follow up appointment. This follow up appointment is complimentary and allows for our Registered Nurses to review yours lips and ensure the filler is integrating nicely into your tissue.

If my lips turn out bad… there’s no fixing it...

It is true that some fillers take a year or two to break down, so until that day comes, you might be stuck with your results however we use a dermal filler, which (1) the results will look very natural and (2) our Registered Nurse can inject an eraser enzyme to immediately dissolve the filler if you decide you don’t like the way it turned out. All you have to do is wait for the swelling to go down and your lips are back to normal.

If you stop getting fillers, your lips will deflate & sag...

This is not even slightly true. “You can stop cold turkey and never look back and never regret it,” Here’s why: The filler we use is made up of a substance that naturally exists in our bodies, & injecting filler into the skin actually stimulates collagen production. Even after your body’s natural enzymes start to dissolve the filler over the course of the next six months to two years (this depends on the particle size of the filler used and where it’s placed), what’s left over actually thickens your skin’s dermis (the outermost layer you want to stay thick and healthy in order to prevent fine lines and wrinkles).

I’m too young for fillers...

A large portion of fillers are used to treat the effects of ageing. However, patients of all ages have been using fillers to enhance their features as well. And dermal fillers trigger collagen production, which can prevent or slow down the physical signs of ageing (wrinkles).

Fillers never look natural...

The problem is the fill"ER" not the actual filler itself — as in, do your research and make sure the Registered Nurse or Doctor you’re seeing is experienced who knows what they’re doing. 90% of the outcomes have to do with the technique and 10% have to do with the product.

Lip fillers are only for people with thin lips...

Although adding volume is a common request with our clients, filler is also used adjust undefined Cupid’s bows, asymmetry, disproportionate top and bottom lips, turned down corners, or dry, cracked lips (which appear glossier with fillers).

Why does filler last longer in some than others?

Lips are a high activity area as we use them all the time, this can impact how long the results will last. It is such a big unknown as to why product lasts longer in some than others, however we try and give an approximate guideline with regards to our standard and thick fillers however each individual is different and there are many factors that can influence how quickly someone’s body dissolves the filler e.g. lifestyle, if you exercise a lot or have a high metabolic rate

Can I get 1/2ml of lip filler?

Yes! We offer 1/2ml options as part of our Mini Lip Plump treatments.

How old do you have to be for lip filler or any cosmetic injectables?

Patients must be 18 years or older in order to be treated for cosmetic injectables.
